Crossing Borders

Crossing Borders, Sharing Songs is an Erasmus+ project by Klein Verhaal, Flotsam Sessions, and Orchester Partout, supported by Muziekmozaïek. It aims to engage migrant youth in music projects and equip professional musicians and youth workers with innovative methodologies for working with diverse cultural groups.

The initiative connects socio-artistic organizations from Belgium, the Netherlands, and the UK, focusing on participatory music practices. Partners collaborate to exchange expertise, develop innovative approaches, and explore inclusive methodologies, creating a lasting impact on their organizations.

The project examines four key topics: integrating intercultural dialogue in music projects, including participants from diverse cultural backgrounds, incorporating cultural heritage into contemporary music, and enhancing participatory practices.

Over two years, partners engage in learning and experimentation through training meetings for musicians and youth workers, and a blended mobility program for 24 youngsters. The partnership concludes with a week-long exchange in Belgium, culminating in a joint performance at TAZ.
