In both Brussels and Ostend, there is a vibrant hip-hop culture in the underbelly of the cities. Together with kleinVerhaal, JH De Kim, De Grote Post and Jeugdhuizen Ondersteuning Brussel, we dive into these worlds and offer young people with ambition and talent for hip-hop and spoken word the opportunity to grow in their personal path, inspire each other and present a new creation.
A diverse group of twelve young people, six from Ostend and six from Brussels, are selected to work under the guidance of three ‘masters’ for five days (19 to 23 July) in the music studios of kleinVerhaal and De Grote Post on the creation and presentation of new hip-hop songs. The three masters are: hip-hopper Dvtch Norris, DJ and producer Ashley Morgan and hip-hopper, mixer Sam van Ryssel.
On this five-day adventure, they will get to work on making beats, writing lyrics and discovering their personal performing style.
Hiphop Boostcamp is a collaboration between TAZ#Youth (the youth work of TAZ), De Grote Post and kleinVerhaal.
